Requirements

For most dogs, adopters must have a 6ft+ fence.
We make exceptions exceptions on a case by case basis, usually for dogs that are older / lower energy / medical needs.
We prefer to place dogs in a house with a yard whenever we can.
We make exceptions for apartments and condos on a case by case basis considering the dog and owner’s respective energy levels.

Once we receive your adoption application, we will be in touch to coordinate with you – it may take 3-5 business days to receive a reply, though we aim to respond sooner. We are entirely volunteer-run with busy schedules, so please be patient!.

Pledge 4 Paws Program

For puppies in our Paws4Pledge Program, the base fee is $500 - this covers all vaccinations, deworming, microchip and spay/neuter. You can learn more about this program and where funding goes here, as well as see some of the happy endings we have been able to facilitate through your donations on our Happy Tails page. Through this program, we accept donations in addition to the base fee to choose between well-qualified applications - the more you donate, the more dogs in need we can save! We greatly appreciate all donations as often the $500 fee we charge for puppies doesn't even cover all of their care. Whether or not you donate does not contribute to your selection as a home for a puppy; we will always pick the home that we believe will be the best for each pup!

Foster-to-Adopt Agreement*
- The animal is and shall remain sole property of AZ Husky Rescue until the animal has finalized all medical and adoption steps. If for any reason the adoption is not finalized, I understand that upon the request of AZ Husky Rescue the animal shall be relinquished to AZ Husky rescue and the deposit will be refunded.
- I will comply with all instructions received from AZ Husky Rescue and will not deviate from any instructions as to the care and maintenance of the animal without consulting with a representative of AZ Husky Rescue.
- I will provide the animal with good care, including but not limited to, proper food, fresh water, shelter, exercise, grooming, training and medication (when required.)
- I agree to maintain the animal as my own household pet and companion.
- I agree not to abandon, trade, give away, or sell the animal, nor is the animal to be used or sold for commercial use or research purposes. If I no longer desire or am unable to keep the animal within the terms of this agreement, the animal must be returned to AZ Husky Rescue. The animal is NEVER to be turned over to an animal shelter or passed to another owner.
- I agree to keep the animal under my control, not let the animal roam freely outside of the home and supervise said animal at all times.
- I will provide a safe and loving home environment and will socialize the animal to humans and other animals
- In regards to veterinary care, I agree that if the animal needs medical attention, a member of AZ Husky Rescue must be contacted immediately and must approve all vet visits. Said visit must be with one of AZ Husky Rescue’s approved vets. If FOSTER takes foster pet to an unapproved vet for any reason, FOSTER agrees to be responsible for all medical bills incurred as a result of said unapproved vet visit except in cases of emergency when the animal’s life may be in danger.
- In regards to veterinary care, I agree that AZ Husky Rescue will make arrangements for spay/neuter surgery and I agree that I will take this animal to their spay/neuter appointment and for any other necessary veterinary care as directed by AZ Husky Rescue unless other arrangements have been made by mutual agreement. There are no exceptions to the requirement that the animal must be spayed/neutered before its adoption is complete.
- I understand that as soon as the spaying/neutering of this animal is completed, the signed adoption contract and any necessary veterinary records will be forwarded to me. I agree that I am responsible for the cost of any veterinary care after this adoption is complete.
- This agreement is not transferable. If I am unable to care for the animal I will immediately return the animal to the AZ Husky Rescue.
- I give permission to AZ Husky Rescue to enter upon my premises at any time upon reasonable notice for the purpose of determining whether or not I am complying with this Agreement, and to remove the animal in the event that I violate the terms of this Agreement.
- I understand that other animals in my household could be exposed to medical or behavioral conditions that have not been recognized in the foster animal placed with me by AZ Husky Rescue, and that AZ Husky Rescue is not liable for any disease or injury of my own companion animals or other exposed animal.
- I agree not to attempt to hold the AZ Husky Rescue responsible for any damages which the animal may do to any person or property. I specifically release AZ Husky Rescue of any responsibility pertaining to any damage to property or personal injury or any occurrence relating to the animal and shall hold AZ Husky Rescue harmless regarding any damage or injury(ies) of any nature whatsoever, and agree to notify AZ Husky Rescue immediately of any damages and/or injury(ies).
- I recognize this is an Agreement and have signed this Agreement freely and voluntarily.
- I agree to pay the adoption fee, which varies per animal, upon finalization of medical treatment and sign final adoption paperwork at that time. A deposit of $200 for puppies under 1 year and $100 for adult dogs will be collected when the dog is placed in the foster home, and upon entering into this agreement the foster agrees to pay the remaining portion once the pet has finalized all medical (spay/neuter, vaccinations, etc.) and the adoption is completed.
Foster Agreement
This agreement is made between you, the foster, and AZ Husky Rescue. This agreement pertains to the specific dog you foster with the intent to adopt, along with any and all future dogs fostered for AZ Husky Rescue, even if there is a lengthy gap between dogs. As a foster for AZ Husky Rescue, I agree to the following:

I understand that any misrepresentations of fact may result in removal of the adopted dog from my home by AZ Husky Rescue. Upon approval and placement, a signed copy of the above information will be required for verification.
Home Visits
I understand that a representative from AZ Husky Rescue will make an initial home check to verify the above information is accurate. A signed adoption contract must be filled out before dog officially becomes yours! Foster will get this form from you to verify adoption.
