Foster Coordinator

Requirements

Estimated Weekly Hours:

~5-10 hours per week

Age Requirement:

18+

What we are looking for

  • Personable and good communicator.
  • Experienced enough with huskies to offer basic advice as needed; we have training we can provide.
  • Basic knowledge of emailing tools (we primarily use gmail) and google suite (docs, sheets).
  • Passion for the volunteer work we do and the impact we are making to save lives.
  • Enthusiasm for volunteering with a team that shares the same mission to help pups in need

What you can expect to do:

We are trying to grow, and to do this we need volunteers! We are looking to bring on a few Foster Coordinators to help streamline our network and allow us to take on more dogs. The Foster Coordinator will manage communications with a set number of fosters and report back to our team, including our Intake and Adoption Coordinators. Typical necessary foster communications include:

  • Regular updates on how a foster dog is doing in their foster home
  • Answer questions on our process (training will be provided)
  • Coordinate with fosters for any medical appointments on their availability
  • Answer behavioral questions and give advice to fosters to help solve any transitional issue.
  • Communicate with the team when foster is in need of any basic supplies for their foster dog
  • Optionally attend adoption events and assist in facilitating event and visitor interactions

We understand that this is a volunteer position, and as such the Foster Coordinator can define how much time they are able to commit.

What you'll get!

  • The incredibly rewarding experience of seeing dogs go from homeless to their forever home
  • You’ll become part of an amazingly supportive community of husky lovers.
  • Experience with internal rescue processes and non-profit operations.
  • We are a 501c3 and volunteer work with us eligible to be used for college and grad school admissions applications.
  • Exposure to lots of snuggles with adoptable pups!
