Brody a big boy looking for his forever home – estimated around 80lbs, he is likely a husky / malamute mix. He does well with small dogs (and currently lives with one with no issues). His past owner reported some issues with other humans and other dogs, but this seems to potentially be from a more protective instinct perhaps – it’s not typical in the breed! Once he was removed from his owner, he did well with all people that he met and all other dogs of all sizes that he was socialized with – so we are requiring a breed-experienced owner who can work with Brody as he grows attached in his new home and curtail any bad behaviors and focus on positive reinforcement and continued training. He really has a lot of potential for someone who both knows the breed and has the time for him!
He does pull on the leash still but also responds quickly to commands, which means he could train very well for someone committed to him. We think a home with other dogs would be ok with Brody but will definitely be doing some doggie intros and meet and greets with any potential adopters before finalizing any placement. If you would like to meet him and see how it goes, please fill out an adoption application.
Based on information from his past owner, we are recommending a home with no small children and likely no cats.
NO YOUNG KIDS
