Meet Misty! She was initially found as a stray in the Glendale area, and is estimated to be about 10 years old. Her shelter assessment showed that she needed a lot of medical attention. With her long list of medical conditions, it was clear to us that she had been neglected for some time before landing in the hands of MCACC. One of our long time fosters was able to open their home to Misty where we could get her the medical attention she needed and on the road to feeling better than she has in years!
After getting adjusted to her medications, Misty settled right in to her foster home. She is low energy, and likes to stay close by her humans. There are both large and small dogs in her current foster home, and they get along well. She will play if she is up to it, but can also be indifferent to them being around. Misty has some bad habits like shoe stealing and trash digging, but she responds very well to verbal corrections. She is a great leash walker, and also knows how to use the doggie door (but sometimes need help finding her way back inside!). Misty is always very happy to get some snuggle time or have a good treat!
Misty is a mellow girl who would do well in a home that can mirror her low energy. She gets along well with other dogs, but would also do well as an only dog. It is unconfirmed, but Misty has a possible high prey drive. For this reason we suggest no cats. In order to understand her boundaries and behaviors, Kids ages 7+ are also suggested. Due to her age, Misty needs some extra assistance getting in the car, or up on the bed — really anywhere she would need to jump to get to. Fill out an application if you think this sweet senior girl would be a great addition to your home!
