Let us introduce the sweetest boy, Hopper. Hopper is a 5-year-old medium energy husky who was placed on the E-list at MCACC due to a mass on his tongue. Hopper had a little bit of go while he was at county, but this boy is living and thriving after his mass removal!
The first day he was in his foster home, Hopper had a couple accidents, but he stopped that very quickly and has learned to wait by the door like a good boy. He has had no issues adjusting to people and has done very well with other dogs. Hopper was a complete gentleman at an adoption event where he was around strangers and other huskies. He does need a little time to warm up to people because he can be a little shy. Once Hopper gets to know you, he will become very affectionate and the cuddliest “lap dog”. Hopper is easily redirected with treats, and with a little bit of training and love he will be able to learn commands and walk easily on a leash. Some of Hopper’s favorite things to do include playing fetch and being a couch potato. Some small, easily trainable behaviors include counter-surfing, jumping on people when excited, and wanting to chase birds. This sweet boy has been through a lot and has some separation anxiety, so he has not been a fan of crates. Even so, his foster parents say, “he is just a sweet, shy, couch potato who never barks.”
Hopper would thrive in almost any home who just wants to have a cuddle buddy. He does well with children of all ages, most dogs, and anyone who can provide a calm loving home. If Hopper sounds like the one for you, please fill out an adoption application on our website today.
