Faye

9mo female Husky mix

Meet Faye! Formerly called Falcon, this young girl was taken into rescue from the euthanasia list at the Maricopa County East shelter. She found herself on the e-list for being scared. Though she took a little time to warm up to us during our evaluation, she showed no signs of aggression. Contrary to her shelter notes, she was willing to engage with our volunteer, taking treats and accepting attention. Pulling her from the shelter was a no-brainer.

It only took Faye a day or two to come out of her shell in her foster home. She has done very well with the other dogs there. She tends to be on the submissive side and is happy to follow their lead, but she can be playful and spunky with dogs who are more energetic. She has also interacted well with dogs of varying sizes outside of the home.

Despite her young age, Faye has not shown many of the behavioral issues that might be expected. She does experience some separation anxiety that can lead to destructive behavior, so her foster crates her when she’s left alone. She has to be coaxed into her crate but settles easily once inside. Around the house, she stays out of trouble and responds well to verbal correction when needed. She is good with young children and always shows them affection despite her timid nature. She loves walks, hikes, and car rides. Though she gets very excited when it comes time to put her leash on, she walks nicely without too much pulling. She’s also perfectly content to snuggle and get attention from people she trusts.

Faye would make an amazing companion for any family, though we think she would do best in a home with other dogs given how playful she can be. Her calm, affectionate demeanor and smaller stature make her especially well-suited for homes with kids. If you’re looking for a pup to join you for both adventures and snuggles, Faye is your girl! We truly see no reason for her to have ended up on the e-list, and we can’t wait to see her thrive in a safe and loving home. Fill out an application today to meet this sweet little girl.
