Surkra Dixie Rose
3yr old female Siberian Husky
UPDATE: Returned from adopter. This was not the adopter’s fault in any way and they tried extremely hard to get this to work, but unfortunately this pair is not a good fit with their alpha female. There were too many fights happened that they did not think they could work through, and it became a high-stress situation. We believe now that they need to either be the only dogs in a home together, or adopted to someone with submissive dogs only. The female Surkra Dixie is pretty insistent on being the alpha and so long as she is able to be in charge, she will be ok. She is having a hard time and unfortunately as hard as this family tried, it just wasn’t the right fit.
Surkra Dixie Rose was an owner surrender – she is 3 yrs old. Of the two, she is definitely the alpha and likes to be in charge. We are trying to keep her and her brother Kingston together as a bonded pair since they have always been together.
Both huskies could use a little help with continued socialize as they weren’t able to get out too much in their original home. They both like to snuggle and be pet, though they have become a bit stressed out moving between foster homes and being returned from their original adoption. Surkra showed no aggression whatsoever at first, but over time has begun to have a difficult time with some new dogs. We believe she would be ok in a home with other submissive dogs only at this time, and her brother Kingston. They give kisses and will sit for treats and really just need to find a home that will be the right fit for them!
