Meet Luke! This guy ended up on the euthanasia list at the county shelter because he is just too much husky. Luke is very energetic and playful, and in typical husky fashion really has no clue how big he is or when to slow down. His foster has made a lot of progress with him, but he’d really do best with an adopter who can embrace his size and energy, or really work diligently with him on training in the longrun.
He’s been with other dogs large and small and loves to play, but tends to play pretty rough. He can be a bit too much for some other dogs, so we recommend other dogs in his home have similar energy levels. He has not met any kitties, but we don’t think he would be a good fit with them based off what we have seen so far.
Luke would likely be ok with older kids 12+ as he hasn’t shown any aggression outside of just being too much sometimes! He loves to eat and since he is food-motivated, definitely trainable. He also loves to snuggle with his head in his foster mom’s lap, and loves his belly rubbed. He has your typical husky independence and goofy behaviors that make these dogs so much fun, but will absolutely benefit from a breed-experienced home looking to add a gorgeous boy who is all husky to their lives!
