Aspen was born with us back in March. His mother is Sofi who has been adopted along with the rest of his siblings. Aspen actually did go to a foster-to-adopt home, but unfortunately he did not do well there, and his fosters decided he wouldn’t be the best fit for their household. At only 6 months old, we’re really optimistic we’ll still be able to find the perfect forever home for this stunning boy!
Aspen’s original fosters had children and other dogs, so he has been raised with both so far and has that exposure. Aspen’s current fosters have 4 other huskies and 2 cats, and he has done great with all of them. He loves to play with the younger dogs in the house and shows interest in the cats, with some chasing, but all of his interest in the cats is not aggressive, just playful and curious. Aspen can also keep himself entertained by playing with toys and chasing tennis balls. With humans, he is a total lover constantly wanting to be by your side and cuddling with you. Aspen has been fine in a crate for up to 5-6 hours and is also housebroken. At night, he sleeps perfectly in bed with his fosters.
Aspen has submissive play style and a somewhat sensitive personality. He wants to know that he’s safe with you, so he will sometimes make a whining sound if he feels left out but that’s just his way of communicating his feelings. His whining never lasts long and he’s immediately right back to be being a happy puppy.
Given that Aspen has been raised with other dogs and has such a playful personality, we think it would be best for him to go to a home with at least one other playful dog. Aspen loves getting out and going for walks, so he would make the very best running, hiking or biking companion!
