Ripley – Medical Hold
~1yr old male Siberian Husky
Poor sweet Ripley comes to us from Pinal County Animal Shelter where he was surrendered as an injured stray. Shaving revealed a ton of injuries consistent with birdshot from a shotgun. He has no internal bleeding, and via ultrasound we saw no free fluid. That’s the good news…. the bad news is that there are so many metallic pellets in this his body that we can’t even count them all. There are over a dozen in his head alone and some on his lip even. From what the vet said, he was likely tied up and then shot multiple times so that he could not get away. If anyone has any ideas on how to find or track who did this please let us know. We are just disgusted but really at a loss for what to do outside of helping this boy.
The X-Ray images show the extent of the damage – Ripley will be staying with a foster while we work on facilitating his medical and will not be available for adoption until we have his medical planned out longterm!
