Snoopy

4yr old male Siberian Husky

Snoopy is a shy boy who originally landed on the e-list at the shelter in 2024 simply for being scared. He was adopted and spent the last two years in a home, but was sadly recently returned to rescue. He was lucky enough to reunite with his original foster family while he searches for his forever home once again.

Snoopy is a medium-energy pup who is still building confidence and continuing his socialization journey. He can be timid and shy at first, especially around loud noises or unfamiliar situations, but he responds very well to patience and verbal reassurance. In his previous home he wasn’t a fan of the leash, but in his foster home he has already started getting back out on walks and slowly rebuilding that confidence. He does well in his crate and has been living successfully with other large dogs, though he tends to be more submissive and cautious around them. Snoopy has shown some resource guarding behaviors around both people and other dogs, as well as some separation anxiety and his foster family is helping him work through these challenges. He absolutely loves affection and praise — truly a “words of affirmation” kind of guy — and enjoys treats, meals, belly rubs, and being reminded that he’s a good boy.

Snoopy would do best in a patient home committed to continuing his socialization and confidence-building. He is not recommended for homes with children at this time, and cats are currently unknown. While he can take time to adjust, Snoopy is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with the people he trusts most. Snoopy is a loving dog who just wants to feel safe, understood, and part of a family again.
