Serenity

7mo female husky mix

Meet Serenity! A shy, 6 month old girl who is relieved to be out of the shelter environment. Serenity found herself on the E-List for being scared and shut down. As a shy girl, the shelter was a scary place for her. When we visited her in the shelter, she gently took treats, and gladly accepted pets. She was clearly a sweet, young pup who was just out of her comfort zone.

Serenity was slow to warm up to her foster home, but she settled in at her own pace. Serenity is comfortable in a crate. She happily spends her days in there to keep her safe when her humans are not home. Serenity is playful with the other dogs in her foster home, and is always on her best behavior. To no surprise, she is an affectionate girl who loves belly rubs and cuddles. She is a quick learner and is already becoming a pro at her basic training commands and tricks. When we met her, Serenity didn’t know how to walk on a leash, but she put her study skills to work and is walking without pulling now! On walks, Serenity loves a good, happy roll on the grass—sometimes it feels like she could lay there forever!

Serenity would do well in many different types of homes as long as there is patience to will allow her the time and space to warm up. Serenity would love another doggy sibling to help keep up her confidence, but she could also do well as an only dog. There are cats in her current foster home, and she gets along well with them! Serenity has been around children ages 7 and up, and has also spent some time at the park getting used to kids of all ages running around—she did great!
