Newton

1yo male Husky / Cattledog mix

Meet Newton! He was one of multiple husky mixes from the Navajo County hoarding situation we took on over the summer of 2025. He was adopted out around ~5months old but has sadly returned to our care after his adopter tragically lost his life. We are excited for him to find a forever home because he really deserves it!

Newton was initially a little standoffish when he arrived at his foster home and showed some resource guarding behaviors, but he adjusted quickly and has continued to come out of his shell. He loves playing with the resident dogs, enjoys treats, getting belly rubs, and curling up in your lap for a good cuddle session! Newton walks well on a leash and settles easily in a crate. He would thrive with a little extra attention and guidance and is looking for an adopter committed to continuing his training, especially with redirecting chewing behaviors and teaching polite greetings instead of jumping up on people. His foster also notes that he tends to drink a lot of water, which may stem from not always having reliable access to fresh, clean water earlier in life.

Having previously lived on farmland, Newton is said to do well with dogs, cats, goats, and even chickens! Since he’s been around other dogs his entire life, he would do best with another dog in the household. Newton has a mellow, gentle, and somewhat timid personality but he could fit right into any home. He is an incredibly sweet boy who deserves a safe place to rest his head every night. We’re ready for Newton to find a loving family who will give him a stable home for the rest of his life, and in return, he’ll reward them with endless affection and loyal companionship.
