Kodiak
~9-10wk old female Malamute/German Shepherd Mix
Meet Kodiak! This sweet girl is the last of her litter looking for her perfect forever home. She was adopted, but unfortunately returned as her adopters struggled to make things work between Kodiak and their older dogs – their older dogs were just not having the company of a playful puppy!
She is thriving in her foster home now – she loves the other dogs, and her foster has raved about what a sweet, easy girl she has been to care for.
As she has grown older, she has definitely gone much more to the German Shepherd side as far as looks, and we do still estimate she will be in the 90-100lb range once full grown.
She is a little timid when she goes to a new place, but it doesn’t take her long to get comfy – and once she’s comfy, she will play all day! There are small dogs in her foster home and she has had no issues with them, outside of being a touch rougher than she should be on occasion, but she is learning.
She’s fully potty trained, and her foster has a dog door that she knows how to use. She is kennel trained during the day, but doesn’t necessarily like being in a kennel if someone is home.
She walks well on a leash for a puppy – a good amount of curious weaving, but not much pulling. She’s highly food motivated, which will be great for training! She also shows quite a bit of puppy tendencies still – loves shoes for example – that will just need the right training and patience. She also still needs work with jumping up on people when she’s excited.
This gorgeous girl has so much potential! Please apply if you’d like to meet her.
