Meet Gatsby! This young boy is a great big bundle of energy. He LOVES other dogs and just wants to play, cuddle, and spend time with his humans. He may annoy some older / less energetic dogs with his playful energy, but for someone looking for a high energy playmate for current dog(s), he would be a fantastic fit!
We also think he’d do well as an only-dog as long as the owner will continue to socialize him and give him lots of social pup play time at the dog park. He does not do well with cats – we did an intro and this is a definite no-go for anyone who may ask.
Gatsby came to us from the euthanasia list down to his last days from Riverside shelter in California – he is so grateful to be here! He loves to follow his foster parents around the home and just wants to spend time with them and his foster sister pup. We would recommend no young children for him as he is large and energetic and may be too much for them. Older kids would do great with him though. He would love an active, loving home to keep him busy!
He has shown some separation anxiety expressed in chewing, but this has only happened a few times and only when he’s left alone. CBD oil has been helpful here, but he’ll need a home that’s excited to help with this behavior! He needs to also be watched carefully around smaller toys/things he can eat, as he’s eaten parts of a toy before!
He really wants to be a good boy; he just needs some stability and guidance. His heart matches his size and he can’t wait to find his forever home. Please fill out an adoption application if you would like to meet Gatsby!
