Gamora
Gamora is estimated 1-2yrs old and is a Siberian Husky mother coming in from Clovis, NM from a high kill area – she was saved from the shelter where many are euthanized in hopes we can find a perfect forever home here in Arizona. We don’t have an exact arrival date but his arrival will definitely be expedited if we can get a committed foster for him on the ground in Arizona.
She is a little more timid and skittish at first, but overall seems to be friendly with other dogs and with people. Cats and small children are unknown. She is coming with her three 3-month old male puppies. Our rescuer in NM was contacted about 2 puppies that she went to pick up, and as she was driving away she saw mama and another baby on the side of the road and just could not leave them there, so now we have the whole crew! We ideally want to keep this whole group together for a few days after they arrive so they can adapt, but are very open to separating babies from mom shortly after as they are old enough to eat dog kibble!
Details on Fostering:
With fostering, you must be aware that evaluations done to date are minimal and that this is not the same as adopting a dog from us – with our dogs available for adoption we have already internally evaluated behaviors and have much more information as far as details like kennel and leash training, potty training, etc.
When you foster you are truly helping to save a life! Our fosters are the ones we rely on to be able to save these dogs from euthanasia at overcrowded shelters, and we rely on our fosters to report on behaviors within the home and let us know of progress and general notes. We always hop to it to move foster dogs from fosters if there are any major aggression issues that stem out of nowhere (we try to always avoid this happening as much as possible and it is not a common occurrence!) but in general, a foster must expect to deal with some unknowns like potty-training reliability, counter-surfing, kennel-training, leash-training, and basics. We do not and never will consider aggression a basic, so please know that we would not be placing a dog with aggression issues with a foster without fully 100% disclosing all details.
