UPDATE 3: CHANDLER PD IS OPENING AN INVESTIGATION! Please contact them with ANY information. She was found the morning of September 3rd hiding under a car with gunshot wound at Chandler Blvd and Hamilton St – less than a mile from an elementary and high school!
UPDATE 2: Estrella had a feeding tube put in, and x-rays taken showing her completely separated piece of jawbone. We want to find who put a gun in her mouth and pulled the trigger and we believe there is enough evidence to investigate! Contact Chandler PD (we did and they said they needed more information – which they could easily get cross-streets found from MCACC and owner information from Humane Society if they put even a tiny bit of effort into this case!) and SHARE! We need someone who cares to see this! This person should NOT go unpunished for what they did to this innocent girl.
UPDATE: Her jawbone is fractured – there is a piece completely disconnected, xray pics to follow. As best we can tell the entry wound appears to be her tongue and shrapnel is visible on xrays. Exit wound is neck. She is SO LUCKY to be alive. Unfortunately it appears a gun was placed in her mouth and fired intentionally based on this information. Found in chandler. MCACC determined there was not enough information to open an investigation. 😡

Today we took yet another dog suffering from a gunshot wound.
I need to start this post by expressing how grateful we are for all of your continued support. We have asked for donations so many times lately and you have all kept helping us help these huskies critically in need time after time. I wish things like this didn’t happen. I wish we didn’t need to take in dogs that suffer from human cruelty and gun violence. It’s so completely unnecessary and heartbreaking that someone would do this to a sweet innocent dog.
Unfortunately it’s happened again with Estrella – our second dog shot that we have taken in within one week. The bullet passed through her jawbone, tongue and out the bottom of her mouth. She needs surgery and we will be getting her the care she needs. This girl is so so sweet and calm, we can’t understand who would do this to her.
She is at our vet now and we will update as we have more information on next steps medically.
