Davy
~3yr old male Siberian Husky
Meet Davy! This sweet guy came to us from Maricopa County. We were picking up a new mama and pups, but when we saw him we just couldn’t say no.
Davy is a young guy, unfortunately impacted by glaucoma. Since coming to rescue, we worked with our medical team to remove the impacted eye and make him more comfortable. He just had his sutures removed and is doing AMAZING in his healing.
In the meantime, it is not slowing him down one bit! He loves chasing his tennis ball, romping around, and playing with his foster sister. He also enjoys long walks and car ride adventures. He has a very sweet temperament and is slightly more on the submissive side when it comes to play with others – he will play all day! This may be a challenge for older pets in the home (unless there’s a younger playmate to keep him preoccupied). He is a fantastic dog with a very endearing personality and will make an amazing pet for the right adopter.
While we’re hopeful Davy is done with his eye issues, there is no way of knowing if glaucoma will eventually impact his other eye. That eye currently appears healthy and unaffected, so we are optimistic! If caught early, glaucoma can be managed for a long time with drops and regular eye visits pressure check-ups, but in the long run if this were to get severe, there is potential he could need his other eye removed.
We think Davy’s ideal home is with another doggie friend and an adopter who understands his potential future medical needs. This guy is still very much a puppy in his energy and play level. If you’re looking for those classic husky traits–high energy, cuddly, sweet, and playful, Davy’s your guy!
