Meet Arlo! He came to us from the county shelter, where he was at risk for euthanasia after he was adopted and returned multiple times for separation anxiety. It turns out he was simply a misunderstood boy – his anxiety was adjustment-related, and he just needed to be given a fair chance. Now that Arlo has had the opportunity to decompress in his foster home, we can confidently say he’s become an amazing, lovable good boy with a lot more confidence!
After a brief adjustment period (some minor anxiety initially), Arlo adapted beautifully to his foster home. He knows some commands and does a great job responding to redirection. Arlo also just LOVES to play! Whether he’s romping around with other dogs or chasing after a ball, he’s always ready for fun. He enjoys playtime so much that he’ll even entertain himself with a toy – it’s seriously adorable! Sometimes he loves his toys a little too much and needs to be reminded to share, but he’s learning. Arlo is very affectionate with people and enjoys cuddling up on your lap after a good play session! He also enjoys going for walks and would happily join you on hikes too!
Arlo is such a fun-loving guy and would thrive in an active home, whether that’s with a couple, a family with kids (3+ according to his foster), or other playful dogs. He’ll benefit from a short decompression period in his new home to help him feel safe and secure, but once he settles in, he adjusts well to your routine. He has not been cat-tested. He’s the sweetest dog and is sure to make his future family incredibly happy. Please fill out an app to meet him!
