Darling Romi is a young and petite female husky mix. Romi came to us found as a stray in Mesa, AZ. She is a very sweet, loving husky who is looking for a forever family who can shower her with love, attention, and exercise.
When Romi was first settling into her foster home she was a little jumpy, but after a few short weeks of adjusting those tendencies have subsided. Romi enjoys meeting and playing with new dogs and loves human attention. She cuddles with her foster dad every chance she gets, and loves to rest her head on him while she sleeps.
Romi knows her basic commands including sit and stay. She will wait patiently at the door, even if it is open, until she hears the go-ahead command (which is a huge deal for a husky/husky mix!). She isn’t a runner or an escape artist like many huskies are, and can almost be trusted completely off leash (away from squirrels and bunnies, naturally).
Romi loves stuffed toys, balls, sticks, pine cones, and pretty much anything chew-worthy! She can be a little possessive over stuffed animals, treats, and food but when her foster dad calls her away from a toy or a meal, she always listens. Her prospective adopters should be ready to practice possession training, especially if Romi will be playing with children. She also loves going on car rides but isn’t too sure about the leap of faith into the Jeep.
Romi is house-trained and is not destructive as long as her human companion is home. She has taken an interest in chewing up the couch cushions or her dog bed while her foster dad is at work. Romi would do best in a home where she doesn’t spend too much time alone, receives positive training, and daily exercise. She was with cats in her first foster home, but ultimately it was decided her best home is without kitties – she is not aggressive with them but does chase them pretty relentlessly, the poor kitties were getting super stressed out by her!
NO SMALL CHILDREN
