Rocky is a young and energetic male Siberian Husky coming in from Clovis, NM from a high kill shelter. He is friendly with other dogs and with people.
He is estimated 3-5yrs old and is overall a really good boy. He will try to escape a yard if he is outside unattended – block walls contain him but a wooden gate that is not 100% solidly secure and in order, he will break through – likely separation anxiety related, so he will need an owner who can observe him closely.
He got a bath when he first arrived here and did great – we had to get pretty up close and personal since he was so dirty, but he showed no aggression at all. He is medium/high energy and seems to know some commands and is very attentive and excited for treats. He has a ton of potential for the right adopter! He still needs to be neutered and have basic diagnostic tests done to rule out common health issues. Once this is done he will be ready to go to his forever home – we can place him with the right adopter in a foster-to-adopt home ASAP, provided the adopter is able to work with us for medical appointment scheduling!
