We got Moe off the elist from the Phoenix county shelter about 1-1.5mos ago. He was placed on the euthanasia list due to behavioral concerns. He was listed as having a “near bite” when being captured by animal control. Please note in these situations a snare is used and animals are usually cornered and can be very afraid, which can trigger a fear response when pushed far enough. Huskies also do not do well in the shelter at all, we very often don’t see how they really will be in a home until they are out and comfortable!
Moe has shown no aggression at all in his foster home and has done well with the other dogs there. His foster even gave him a bath day one barely knowing him and saw no aggression! He did state that Moe is a “fur missile” when you open to door to let him in or out of the house since he is SO crazy high energy!!
This foster is very husky-experienced and will be taking back in a dog that does have some aggression issues that we are working through, thus it will be in Moe’s best interest to go to a new foster home – though an adopter would be better!
He is definitely high energy. We recommend a husky-experienced home since he did end up on the elist he will need some work on basic training and leash training. He would love to be an exercise companion. Although he has done well with other dogs in his foster home, he is definitely excitable and can be overbearing at times, so he may not do well with all other dogs and an intro is required! He also may need to be fed separately depending on the dogs in home as he has shown some signs of food aggression towards other dogs.
He also loves to run and wants to cuddle at all times. Kids above age of 10 would be ok with him as well per his foster. He is potty-trained but does like to counter surf.
NO SMALL DOGS
