Kodi is a sweet boy who came to us from the shelter in Bisbee, AZ. He was found as a stray wandering in the desert, it could be possible he came from Mexico even given the area he was found, but there was no luck in trying to find an owner for him and he was not doing well in the shelter surrounding there, so they asked if we would take him.
He is absolutely stunning with his amber eyes and wooly coat. He is a total lover too! He loves other dogs, loves humans, gives kisses and leans in for pets and snuggles. The shelter staff brought him around cats to see how he did, and he showed curiosity but no aggression. We can’t 100% say he would be good with cats, but this was at least a very positive initial assessment.
His biggest issues are potty-training and leash training. He pulls REALLY hard on a leash. A gentle leader harness helps with this a lot, but it seems he may not have been leashed too much before. He also has shown a desire to mark things in his foster home. When corrected, he looks surprised as in he did not know that this behavior was even wrong. We will work with him on potty-training, but male marking can be pretty difficult to correct when it gets to this point, and we want to make sure a potential adopter is aware of this. He is getting neutered and this should help exponentially!
He will be available in about a week and a half, but feel free to submit an application now if you are interested!
