Meet Griffin! This handsome, athletic guy comes to us from VVAPL which is a shelter in the greater Los Angeles area. We were asked to save him from euthanasia so here he is!
He loves both his human and his squeaky ball equally! Those squeakers are his absolute favorite thing – he’ll come running the second he hears one! His energy levels really are a great mix for a younger husky boy – he loves to play and would happily be a walking, hiking or running buddy, but is also just as happy to chill and watch TV with you.
He is treat-motivated and currently knows sit, and obviously fetch for his ball – he could definitely learn some more skills with continued training.
He is dog friendly, though we always recommend thoughtful intros at first – he may have a preference for females or altered males over unaltered, though this is not uncommon at all. He really wants his foster husky sister to love him and continues to try to gain her affection, though she has been pretty darn aloof!
Griff is 100% potty-trained (sometimes transitional accidents happen, but in his foster home he is doing great!) and also walks pretty well on a leash for a husky. He weaves a bit but is not a “I’m gonna pull you to the moon” tugger.
Hasn’t had and resource guarding with his foster either – she is able to take food / toys from whim with no issues. He also does well in a crate there. – From what we’ve seen he really is that total package: straight up adult husky, with perfect mix of playfulness and cuddliness who will make a perfect canine companion!
Has not been around cats or very small children so we are not able to recommend him in a home with either of these, though older children should be no issue.
If you are interested in Griffin, please fill out the adoption application following the link below.
His adoption fee is $250. He comes neutered, chipped and up-to-date on vaccinations.
