Deku is an incredibly sweet, loving boy. He was found in West Phoenix absolutely infested with ticks. Thankfully the kind soul that found him realized his treatment was beyond her abilities and contacted us. We had him tick-dipped and quarantined until all ticks were killed. He was given NextGuard to protect him from ticks for the next month and kill any babies that my have been on him. After a recent visit to the vet and a grooming, he was declared tick-free! He does still have lots of scabs all over that you can feel when petting him, but these will heal in time. He is incredibly happy to be out and about playing with all the other huskies in his foster home.
The vet estimated that he is around 1 year old as his teeth are bright white and he has a lot of energy. He is a very loving who would be great either with or without other dogs. He shows no desire to chew things up in his house, and has more of a medium level of energy for a husky.
He will need to be re-tested in approximately 6 weeks to ensure that he is free of tick-related diseases. We will cover this test at that time, and this will just be a stipulation of his adoption contract if he goes to a home before this. As there can be an incubation period with tick-related diseases, we just want to be completely positive he is in the clear before fully releasing him from our care!
Please let us know if you’d like to meet this amazing boy!
