Meet Aura! She came to us from a home where she was stuck tied up outside for the majority of the time, and her past before that is unknown. The owner realized he was in over his head with her energy levels and surrendered her to us where she got a much needed bath and brush, and so much more exercise and engagement. She is a very sweet submissive girl. She currently lives with three foster husky brothers, all of whom she plays with very well – she loves to play and is very social, so a home with companion dog(s) is a must for her! She gets along well with all since she’s so much more on the submissive side.
She always has tons of kisses to give her foster mom and any human she meets – she loves all people. She is very affectionate! While she has not been around small children yet, with an intro and the right human parent who would supervise interactions, we think she could do well. She has been ok meeting a kitty while in foster care with us as well 🙂
She definitely still needs work on training and manners. While she does ok in a crate, she does still need some help learning not to potty inside. We believe she spent a lot of time outside for a while before coming to us – her foster mom is working with her but she will need continued training. She has a TON of potential, just was never taught what was expected of her!
She also WILL JUMP FENCES. She can clear a 5ft block wall fence no problem. She needs at a bare minimum 6ft fences and a very attentive owner who will not leave her outside alone, even with other dogs.
She also definitely gets some separation anxiety so being able to be with her pack and having humans who won’t leave her alone too much would really help her thrive. She would actively try to escape if she was locked in a backyard alone for example (she’s fine with other dogs playing with her there!) and she has jumped up on tables, etc trying to see outside when in the house alone. Some is separation-anxiety driven-behavior and some is just her being a silly, mischievous young husky girl. Her sweet loving temperament make up for it, and with time and patience she will make an amazing family member!
Adoption fee is $250 which will cover the cost of her spay, vaccinations, microchip and heartworm/tick fever test.
