MEEKA
~11mo old female Siberian Husky
Meeka was found as a stray and did not seem to have been well cared-for, though we do not know how long she was out. The finder posted her extensively online with flyers hung, called county, checked for a chip and couldn’t find an owner. We posted her as well and gave her a little more time with no luck, so she now is in need of a loving forever home!
We don’t know her exact age, we are estimating 11mos because she is very skinny and pretty small still and looks like she has some growing and filling out to do. She is only 35lbs! She has lots of puppy energy and very white teeth too. She does know how to sit, and she is potty-trained and has figured out the doggie door too. She still isn’t too sure about a kennel unfortunately, so if she needs to be kenneled when away that would be something the adopter needs to consider and work through. She definitely has some husky puppy mischief in her and likes to be on the move exploring – but she is also very sweet and likes to hang out near humans when she calms down as well.
She does great with most other dogs – she can be a little skittish at first (probably socialized too well prior), but definitely warms up. No cats as finder reported she did not do well at all when introduced to hers. She would probably be ok with kids though we have not tested this yet – we wouldn’t recommend super young due to energy unless the parent is very experienced with huskies and willing to provide constant supervision when together.
