Fritz

1yo male Husky mix

Fritz is a 1-year-old Husky mix who was e-listed for being scared and and shutdown in the shelter. He was overwhelmed, scared to be touched, and unsure how to interact with people—he needed more time than the shelter could offer. We saw a sweet, gentle boy behind his fear and now that he is in a foster home, he’s showing that with love and patience, he willmayslowly learn to feel safe, and show how much affection he has to offer.

In his foster home, Fritz has settled into a comfortable routine and is learning how to enjoy the good life. He loves spending time near his people, soaking up belly rubs, and curling up with the family during movie nights. He does very well in a crate, which helps him settle and avoid typical puppy mischief (like counter surfing or sampling unattended items). Fritz has medium energy and enjoys a balance of playtime and relaxation. He’s also learning leash manners, does great in the car, and is becoming more confident as he explores the world at his own pace. He’s a curious, growing boy (probably from all the vegetables he eats!) who benefits from structure, consistency, and a little puppy-proofing.

Fritz will thrive in a calm, patient home that will set him up for success and understands that trust takes time. He’s playful and friendly with other dogs—both big and small—and would thrive with a confident canine companion to help guide him and boost his confidence. A yard for him run and play, and a space that can be “puppy-proof” are very important for Fritz’s success. A home with kids 3+ who can respect his space, and understand that he is still sensitive to quick movements would be fine. With the right person, Fritz will be a loyal, loving companion.
