Meet Anastasia! This 5 year old Husky Mix Mama came to MCACC after being found as a stray. When she arrived at MCACC, she was very pregnant, and was set to get a dangerous late-term spay and lose her babies. We were fortunate to have a very experienced foster for her, and be able to welcome her litter of Vizsla/Husky mixes while under our care! After giving birth in October, Anastasia is now ready to search for a loving home of her own.
Anastasia adjusted quickly into her foster home, and loves every human she sees! Anastasia has typical husky energy for her age and still loves to get her exercise, but she will never pass up belly rubs and snuggles from her humans. She has done great with both large and small dogs in multiple homes since joining us and can be very playful! She is a more nervous girl on a leash and seems scared of cars when walking, but feels a bit more confident if there are other dogs walking with her. She is potty-trained and hasn’t shown tendencies towards digging, getting into trash or counter-surfing, so she really is at the perfect age where she has grown out of puppy mischief. Anastasia responds well to correction and redirection when needed and is a great listener – it’s very rare that she truly needs correction. Anastasia is a curious girl who has truly blossomed since leaving the shelter and seeing her babies adopted. She has so much love to give!
Anastasia will do well in almost any home. She is an affectionate girl who just loves to be with her humans. Anastasia interacts well with dogs of all sizes, both in and outside of the home, so she would do well both with some doggie siblings, or as an only pup. She has not been in a home with cats to our knowledge, so her behavior with them is unknown. We may be able to do a test if an adopter with cats is interested. She does well with children (age 3+ recommended), so families would also be a great match! We do have suspicion that she escaped from her previous home, as being away from home seems to make her fearful. Because of this, we do not believe she would do well off leash and recommend a minimum 6ft tall fence. If you think you have a place for sweet Anastasia in your home, please fill out an application!
